This historic designation marks a groundbreaking milestone in advancing inclusivity, communication access, and family connection for individuals with developmental disabilities and their loved ones. “Language is a lifeline. By offering ASL as a Family Support Service, we are not just teaching signs, we are creating pathways for families to truly connect with their loved ones,” said Dr. D’yann Elaine Crosby, Founder of Sign with Me, Inc. “This partnership is a revolutionary step toward communication equity, inclusivity, and literacy for families who have long been searching for an accessible way to build deeper bonds.” For the first time, families supported by SCLARC will have direct access to ASL training programs tailored for caregivers, parents, siblings, and extended family members. These sessions are designed to strengthen communication, foster inclusivity, and empower families to engage meaningfully with their child or loved one who is deaf, hard of hearing, non-verbal, or living with developmental disabilities.
