Mission Statement

Sign with Me, Inc. (SWM) is a non-profit organization that advocates for equal communication access for individuals who are deaf hard of hearing, aging adults, and those with developmental disabilities. We offer a range of instructional teaching programs and services including classes, workshops, and training. In addition to our unique language programs, we offer premiere interpreting services, consulting, casting, and captioning in partnership with local agencies.

Working with California’s regional centers and the Department of Developmental Services, Sign With Me, Incorporated is officially approved as the first advocacy organization in California to provide American Sign Language (ASL) Traaining and Family Support Services (FSS)-Service Code 644 through the South Central Los Angeles Regional Center (SCLARC).

This groundbreaking milestone means regional center staff and families can now receive direct, supported ASL training and support—opening doors to stronger connections, greater independence, and a more inclusive future.

Connect with skilled sign language performers and actors for casting needs in film, television, theater, and other creative projects, fostering authentic representation and storytelling.

In collaboration with regional centers the Department of Developmental Services, the Department developed a new service, American Sign Language (ASL) Training and Support – Service Code 644, to help individuals improve or develop their expressive and receptive communication. Sign with Me is the new vendor of choice to expand on services and supports  to enhances individuals’ ability to meet wants and needs, access the community, and develop relationships, among other important life functions. The service is intended to help individuals improve functional communication skills through the use of formal ASL and to reduce the use of home signs and improve connection and literacy. With appropriate language support, individuals can thrive in expressing their desires and needs, fostering a whole-person-centered environment. Direct support professionals and family members may also receive training while the individual is present to promote more cultural and linguistic understanding of the natural environment.

Interpreting Outside the Box: Expanding ASL Impact through Visual-Based Learning,
an online instructional webcast taught by Dr. D’yann E. Crosby, ASL educator, interpreter, and visual-based learning expert.

This professional development course is designed for American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters and offers the opportunity to earn 0.2 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) toward maintaining the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification.

Delivered through an accessible online learning format, this webcast invites interpreters to think beyond traditional frameworks and explore innovative, visual-based strategies that enhance access, clarity, and impact across diverse interpreting environments. Click to register.
