Our SWM Curriculum© is designed to promote cultural awareness and prepare students to interact with the DHH community. ISLC’s are one (1) hour and held once a week for 8 weeks. Each of our exciting ASL Music Classes culminates with a signed videotaped group recital performance. Check out our student performances. Performances are professionally edited, shared with class participants, and uploaded on our SWM YouTube Channel and social media outlets for educational and promotional purposes.

SWM offers Interactive Sign Language Classes In-Person and Online

SWM ISLCs introduces learners ages 9 and up to American Sign Language (ASL). Our unique program incorporates music as a way to teach the concepts of ASL and expose learners to the interpretation of popular inspirational songs using a combination of sign systems. ISLCs are currently offered in the Summer (June -July). As demand increases we look to expand course offerings to the Fall, and Spring to target groups including: Community Centers, Organizations, Schools, Churches, and Clubs. Classes are 1-hour, 8-week sessions for children, adults, and seniors, ages 9 and up. Class minimum is 5 and maximum 15. The standard Tuition cost is $150 per student. Reduced tuition special is $99.99 + processing fees and is non-refundable .

Corporate and Special Group rates are available for groups of 10 or more.

*Performance Recitals are held on the last day of class and will be recorded. Participants will receive a link to the video of their class performance. The video will be posted on social media. *Social Media Photo Release Form required.

INSTRUCTORS NEEDED

We are looking for qualified individuals to facilitate our ASL Music Classes class using our SWM Curriculum©. The curriculum is designed to increase exposure to sign language, promote bi-lingual/bi-cultural awareness and prepare students for basic interaction with the DHH community.

Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Interpreter Training Program (ITP) or equivalent years of experience in the related field. Fluency in American Sign Language is required. Ability to manage a classroom setting, and present and demonstrate content before large groups. Prior related experience and a joy for signing interpretive music preferred. Remote access to a desktop computer, strong Internet connection, and familiarity with navigating Zoom conferencing features.
